Light and medium tanks

Panzer II Ausf.A

Description

The German light tank of the initial period of the Second World War. The tank was designed by MAN and Daimler-Benz, and manufactured from 1937 to 1942.

Even though many modifications were made to the tank after its initial production run, its overall layout remained unchanged.

Panzer II Ausf.A was one of the first tanks to cross the USSR border. It boasted decent maneuverability and armament, but the tank had rather mediocre shielding, and light Polish guns could penetrate at medium range. The tank did not fare well against the PTRS of the Red Army.
